Passwell Red Factor Canary Food is a seed mix that is specifically designed to enhance feather colour in red factor canaries. Red Factor canaries were developed as a cross between the Red Siskin and Yellow Canary and have been specifically bred to display red plumage. They obtain the red colouration from red carotenoid pigments in their diet, so it is important there is enough in the blood stream at the time of feather growth to avoid fading. This often occurs when feeding normal canary seed due to the absence of canthaxanthin in the seed. This seed mix will help maintain bright feather colour in Red Factor Canaries and provide a dietary supplementation of Canthaxanthin.
