Reptile One Turtle Substrate 5-8mm 5kg contains calcium which aids shell growth, bone formation and muscle tone. It will also buffer pH in your turtle tank. The pH Buffer prevents water from becoming acidic and cause burning. Reptile One Turtle substrate can be used as a substrate in a tank at approx 30mm depth, or as a medium in a sump or canister filter. If used in a sump or canister filter, we suggest using an Aqua One Filter Media Bag.
