Avigrain Budgie Mix Blue is based on a blend made famous by one of Australia’s budgie legends, Mr Fred Cardona. Fred’s blend was 50% canary, 25% White French and the rest a mixture of jap millet, panorama, panicum, red panicum and hulled oats and this remains the mix for Budgie Blue. This was the standard blend for all top breeders in the 80’s and 90’s. The critical component in Budgie Blue is canary seed, which is higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates than millet, resulting in a balanced and less fattening diet. This seed can also be used for making soaked seed for your bird. As seed starts to grow, it releases a powerhouse of nutrition for your bird! For 30 years Avigrain has been the breeder’s choice and remains Australia’s top selling quality birdseed range.

    I like ordering thru Woonona it's a good company always friendly, punctual with good prices. I mainly buy my birds food here cheaper than elsewhere. I buy budgie blue which is a top bird seed for all seed eating birds and contains higher protein but contains only seeds the birds actually eat. Cheaper brands often pad out their seed with seeds birds just dont eat. Its a waste of money. Some brands are often full of seeds that are old or dehydrated and not as nourishing. Some brands have high amounts of fatty seeds, such as sunflower seeds, which can easily cause fatty tumours. This brand contains no fatty seeds like sunflower seeds. Budgie blue is very healthy. My cockateils, budgies and ringneck all eat it. My ringneck is close to 30 years old. Never had an illness in his life. Woonona only keeps good brands. I recommend them.

    We find that it’s definitely has a better quality of seed with no dust residue. The bird’s thrive and also are a lot healthier.
